Broke in less than six months
By JayD
Bought the Pacemaster ProPlus II about eight years ago. Still works great, just have had to open it up a few times to clean out the dust that was blocking the sensor. Well, started noticing sagging of the deck that got worse and worse. Figured it was about time, I'd really put some miles on it. Well, finding a deck was extremely difficult, never thought I'd find it on Amazon. Ordered the deck, thought I could keep running on the sagging one for a couple of weeks till it arrived. Much to my dismay, was told it might be 6-8 weeks, though when I ordered it, Treadmill Doctor said it was in stock! I was p.o.'ed. But, suprise! It arrived in less than three weeks. Took me a few hours to replace the old deck with the new one and I was up and running, no break in my schedule.
Cut to six months later. The new board is already sagging as bad as the old one. I can't tell you how disappointing this is. It's just a board, particle board with a phenoline cover. (Why not put a thin stainless steel board on the bottom surface?) And I'm no 300 lb NFL lineman. I weight 185 lbs.
The only good thing: it looked like I was going to be out a hundred bucks and still have to buy a new treadmill. Instead, the price of the PreCor 9.27 dropped $700 bucks during that time, so I came out ahead.
Treadmill Doctor has a great reputation. Hopefully, this was an aberrant deck. But on an older treadmill, it might be worth just getting a new one than trying to repair an old one.
